Our process

How we work: no black boxes, no mystery invoices

SEO has a reputation for being deliberately opaque. Ours is the opposite — you will always know what we are doing this month, why it matters, and what it is meant to produce.

The four-step engagement

Every client goes through the same first three steps. After that it becomes a monthly rhythm you can set your watch by.

01

Free SEO audit

Before any money changes hands, we look properly at where you stand.

  • Full technical crawl of your site
  • Current rankings for your commercial keywords
  • Google Business Profile and local visibility review
  • Backlink profile health check
  • Analysis of your three closest competitors
  • A prioritised list of what to fix first
02

Strategy & scope

We turn the audit into a plan you can actually read and approve.

  • Target keyword set with realistic difficulty
  • Pages to build, fix or consolidate
  • Technical work queued in priority order
  • Content and link plan for the first quarter
  • A clear monthly scope and what it costs
03

Execution

We do the work. You approve the things that need your eyes and nothing else.

  • Technical fixes deployed or specced for your dev
  • On-page optimisation across priority pages
  • New content written, reviewed and published
  • Link acquisition and digital PR outreach
  • Google Business Profile management
04

Report & refine

One page a month, plus a call if you want one.

  • Keyword ranking movement
  • Organic traffic and which pages earned it
  • Enquiries, calls and form submissions
  • Exactly what we did this month
  • What is queued for next month

The first 90 days

What actually happens after you sign

The most common complaint about SEO agencies is that nothing seems to happen for months. Here is our honest timeline.

Weeks 1–2

Deep dive & fixes begin

Full technical audit, keyword research, competitor analysis and Google Business Profile overhaul. The quick technical wins go live immediately — these sometimes produce movement within days.

Weeks 3–6

Foundations

Priority page optimisation, site structure and internal linking, schema markup, and the first new content going live. Search Console starts showing new impressions for terms you never ranked for.

Weeks 7–12

Momentum

Content cadence established, link acquisition under way, review system running. Rankings begin climbing on lower-competition terms. First genuine uplift in organic enquiries typically lands in this window.

Every site is different. An established business with a clean site moves faster than a brand-new domain in a competitive city — we will tell you which one you are during the audit rather than after you have signed.

What we need from you

SEO fails more often from client-side bottlenecks than from bad strategy. Here is the honest list of what makes an engagement work.

Access

Website admin, Google Search Console, Google Analytics and your Google Business Profile. We will walk you through granting each one.

About an hour a month

Reviewing content before it publishes and answering questions about how your business actually works. That input is what makes content rank.

Honesty about your numbers

What a new customer is worth, what your margins look like, which services you actually want more of. Without this we are optimising blind.

A path to your developer

If we are not deploying changes ourselves, we need someone who can. Fixes sitting in a queue for three months are the single biggest killer of results.

Reporting you can actually use

We are not going to send you a 40-page automated PDF. You get one page that answers the only three questions that matter.

Are we ranking better?

Movement on the specific commercial keywords tied to your revenue, tracked over time — not a hand-picked selection of easy wins.

Is it bringing people?

Organic sessions broken down by landing page and service, so you can see which work produced which traffic.

Is it bringing money?

Form submissions, phone calls and quote requests attributed back to organic search. The number that decides whether this was worth doing.

Process questions

How often will we speak?

Monthly by default — a short call to walk through the report and agree priorities. Some clients prefer email only, some want fortnightly. We will fit around how you like to work, not the other way around.

Who will actually be doing the work?

The person you speak with. We are deliberately small, which means no handover to a junior after the sales call and no offshore content mill.

What if we disagree with a recommendation?

Tell us and we will explain the reasoning or change course. You know your customers better than we do. We will push back if we think something is a mistake, but it is your business.

Can we pause the engagement?

Yes. Life happens, cash flow happens. Pausing is better than cancelling because the momentum and knowledge stay in place. Just give us notice so we do not leave work half-finished.

Do you charge for the audit?

The initial audit is free and yours to keep, even if you never hire us. The deeper technical audits — the ones with full crawl data and developer specifications — are paid work.

How do you handle billing?

Monthly in advance, invoiced on the same date each month. No setup fees hidden in month one, no minimum term.

Start with step one — it is free

The audit is the whole first step of our process, and we do it before you commit to anything. Worst case, you get a clear list of what to fix.
